The REV Bible app provides easy and convenient access to the Revised English Version® Bible, a translation developed by Spirit & Truth Fellowship International®.

The translation project initially utilized the American Standard Version (ASV) of 1901 as its foundation. Commencing in 2000, work on this translation continued until the release and printing of the first edition in 2013. Known as the Revised English Version, this translation aims to bring the ancient texts into English, offering both similarities and significant variances from other modern English versions.

Included with the app are instructional videos designed to assist users in exploring all its features.

The REV translation prioritizes a more literal approach whenever feasible and understandable in modern English. However, departures from strict literalism occur when necessary to ensure clarity in English comprehension. Literal translations can sometimes be more hindrance than help due to significant differences between Greek, Hebrew, and English mechanics. Beyond grammatical variations, idiomatic expressions rarely translate directly across languages. The main goal of any translation is to convey the original language's meaning in the receptor language; if a literal rendition impedes this objective, the REV opts for functionally equivalent expressions.
